St. Louis, Missouri
eDesign Dynamics served as hydrology and habitat consultants on a multidisciplinary team led by Object Territories for the development of a master plan for the Chouteau Greenway. As part of the Chouteau Greenway International Design Competition, the team was selected as one of four finalists to develop design proposals for connecting St. Louis’s Forest Park to the Mississippi river.
EDD developed an integrated approach to stormwater management by incorporating historic hydrologic systems, establishing “hydrologic strategies,” and identifying a broad range of amenities that green stormwater systems could provide to the residents of St. Louis. Our team sought to convert parking lots into wetlands, highway pilings into green pillars, streets into greenways, and rooftops into meadows, with the goal of keeping stormwater out of combined sewers. We identified multiple opportunities for stormwater capture, conveyance, and retention throughout the Greenway ranging from large scale detention treatment wetlands to modestly altering existing infrastructure for beneficial reuse.CLIENTS AND PARTNERS
