Newark, New Jersey
Through an innovative design and construction process, eDesign Dynamics designed and built a variety of green infrastructure facilities on a formerly vacant lot in Newark, New Jersey.
Our design converted the site into a garden for students at the 13th Ave School, who were engaged during the design.
The final project included porous pavement, underground cisterns, and rain gardens receiving runoff passively from adjacent building rooftops, but also actively with a treadle pump. The construction of the project was completed by ex-offenders supervised by eDesign Dynamics. Our monitoring plan included both water quality testing and event-by-event quantification of stormwater retention volumes and percentages.
