Dr. Haseeb Payab
Hydrology Modeler and Water Resources Specialist
Dr. Haseeb Payab works as a Research Scientist with the Sustainable Water Resource Engineering Lab (SWRE) at Drexel University where he is working to explore causes of, and solutions to flooding problems in urban watersheds by evaluating green approaches to climate adaptation in the context of urban integrated water resources management (IWRM).
Dr. Payab holds a PhD in Civil Engineering focusing on Water Resources in Hydraulics. He has over a decade of experience with diverse organizations in project and program development, management and implementation; research and training. Throughout his career he has taken a multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, collaborative and participatory approache to real-world water, environment, climatology, agriculture, and energy challenges. With a strong policy and program development background, he has continued his engagement with research projects reflecting his interest in the interconnection of research, science, and policy. He has published several peer-reviewed articles in refereed journals and in international conferences and regularly reviews articles for several international journals. His research interests are also broad and multidisciplinary in nature centering around the water-food-energy nexus; hydro-economic modeling; hydro-climatology; water resources development; climate change; drought and flood analysis, planning and management; watershed management; green infrastructure; nature-based solutions; environmental governance; renewable energy; sustainable development and the circular economy.
