Krista Bentson

Landscape Architect

Krista Bentson is a landscape architect with two decades of experience working on projects in the public realm.

Krista started her own Brooklyn landscape design practice in 2023 to focus on adding the emotional resonance of the natural world to people’s everyday lives. Over the last two decades at the acclaimed design firms of QRP, Ken Smith, and DLAND/Sasaki, her work has renovated or reimagined parks, streetscapes, plazas, and multiple waterfront sites with an eye towards sustainability, resiliency, and stormwater management. Her list of past projects include the wetland cells at Croton Water Treatment Plant, NYCDPR projects with green infrastructure, ornamentally focused native planting rain gardens for the Sheldon in St Louis, waterfront parks including Scenic Hudson Park at Peekskill Landing, and resiliency planning for Miami Beach. Krista holds an MLA from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and a BA from UC Berkeley.
